Jaymie Cardin

Founding Member/ Instructor

Meet Jaymie, a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA), specializing in service dog training. With a passion for service dogs, Jaymie's journey began in 2013 when she started training a Labrador mix as a Diabetic Alert Dog. After high school she dedicated herself as a puppy raiser for an ADI-accredited non-profit organization that raised, trained, and placed service dogs for children and adults with disabilities. Jaymie's education continued at AZ Dog Smart Academy and the Service Dog Summer Seminar at Bergin University, enhancing her expertise in service dog training. In 2023 she earned her bachelor’s of science in Cynology from Bergin University, where she now works as a professor. She is a firm believer in motivation, problem-solving, and mutual understanding as the foundation of her training philosophy and constantly seeks the most up-to-date, science-based training methods. Her personal companion is Quill, a Flat-Coated Retriever, with whom she enjoys hiking, trick training, dock-diving, and Canine freestyle.

She received her certificate from Michael Shikashio’s Aggression in Dogs Master Course, and graduated from Arizona State University, and the East Valley Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and in Pre-Veterinary Medicine. She spent 3 years as an undergraduate researcher in an animal behavior lab and has also gained experience in equine, exotic, small animal, and conservation medicine settings working up from an intern at age 12 to a veterinary assistant. Additionally, she spent 5 years working with a wildlife rehabilitation facility gaining hands-on experience with wild canids (like wolves, coyotes, and foxes) among many other species.

Jessa Sterling-Parker

Jessa began training dogs full-time after graduating from Texas A&M University in 2013. She moved to Phoenix, Arizona after college where she worked as head trainer for an ADI-accredited non-profit that raised, trained, and placed service dogs for children and adults with disabilities. Through this work, Jessa developed her specialization for training and placing mobility assistance dogs and diabetic alert dogs. Jessa obtained her professional dog training certification in 2017 as a CPDT-KA, and has enjoyed continuing to learn and expand her knowledge while also serving as a mentor for other dog trainers in the service dog field. In addition to service dog training she also focuses on helping others enjoy life with multi-dog and multi-pet households. She loves to take camping trips with her husband, their four dogs, and two cats.
